1) Sichuan University
Sichuan University (SCU) is one of the national key universities directly under the State Ministry of Education (MOE) in China and one of the State “211 Project” universities receiving privileged government support in the Ninth Five-Year Plan click for a full sizeperiod. The University went through two mergers, first with Chengdu University of Science and Technology (CUST), another national key university under the MOE in1994, and then with West China University of Medical Sciences (WCUMS) in 2000, a key university directly subordinated to the State Ministry of Health. The President in office is Prof. Xie He-ping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

2) University of Electronic Science and Technology
Renowned as China’s cradle for the national electronic industry, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (formerly Chengdu Electronic Information Engineering College) is situated at Chengdu, the city of over a thousand-year-old cultural history in “the land of abundance”. In 1956, instructed by Premier Zhou Enlai, UESTC was founded on the basis of the incorporation of electronic divisions of the then three universities including Jiaotong Universities, Nanjing Institute of Technology and South China Institute of Technology. As one of the seven earliest key universities in national defense, UESTC became one of the nation’s key universities in 1960. Then, in 1997 it was included as one of the first universities into “Project 211”, a project in China for developing 100 first-class universities and a number of key fields of research for the 21st century. In 2001, UESTC was admitted into the nation’s Project 985, receiving special support for developing world-class universities and world-famous research-oriented universities.

3) Southwest Jiaotong University
Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was founded at Shanhaiguan in 1896, named then Imperial Chinese Railway College. It is one of the oldest universities in China majoring in engineering. In 1905, it was moved to Tangshan, Hebei Province, and was renamed Tangshan Jiaotong University, Tangshan Railway Institute, and so on. In 1972, the university was removed to Emei, Sichuan province, and began to use its present name-Southwest Jiaotong University. In 1989, it was moved to Chengdu, and in 2002, the construction of a new campus covering an area of over 3,000 mu was started in Chengdu. With this, a new pattern of “ one university, in two places, with three campuses” is coming into being.

1) Zhejiang University
Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university. Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University was initially known as “Qiushi Shuyuan” (Qiushi Academy), one of the ealiest modern academies of higher learning established in China. In 1952, because of the nationwide restructuring of universities, Zhejiang University underwent a reshuffling of disciplines and some departments merged into other universities.

2) Zhejiang University of Technology
In 1953, Zhejiang University of Technology was established in the picturesque city, Hang Zhou. It is a key comprehensive university in Zhejiang province, which offers mainly engineering programs, but also offers programs like arts, science, law, economics, medicine, management, education and so on. With the aim of strengthening management of disciplines, academic degrees and graduate students’ education, Graduate School of ZJUT was founded in 2003. It is an administrative organ, for graduate students’ general affairs, such as enrollment, registration, education, ethic education, management of academic degrees and disciplinary construction.

3) Ningbo University
Ningbo University is a dynamic, young and comprehensive university with a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine and management. It is one of the key institutions of higher learning of Zhejiang Province. Deng Xiaoping autographed the name of Ningbo University. Throughout its establishment and development, the University has been upheld by considerable donations and generous support from patriotic overseas Chinese such as Sir Yue-kong Pao, Sir Run-run Shaw, Sir Chao An Chung, Sir Hans Tang, Sir Yue-shu Pao, Sir Cao Guangbiao, Sir Li Dashan, Sir Zhu Xiushan, as well as from personages of various circles in the country. Mr. Cheng Gang, a standing member of Ningbo Municipal Committee of CPC, is concurrently Secretary of the Ningbo University Committee of CPC. Professor Nie Qiuhua holds the presidency of the university.

4) Zhejiang Normal University
Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), founded in Hangzhou in 1956, is one of the key universities in Zhejiang province. The main campus of ZJNU is located at the cultural historical city of Jinhua in the central part of Zhejiang Province. The city links Shanghai and Hangzhou to the north, and Guangdong and Fujian provinces to the south. The university covers a total area of more than 200 hectares. Its green and beautiful campus furnishes an ideal place for living, study and work.
The university consists of 16 colleges offering 52 undergraduate programs, 63 postgraduate programs including MED and MPA, and MA for Part-Time Vocational Education.The university is assigned by the Ministry of Education as the Key National Training Base for Teachers of Vocational Education. In addition, it is designated by the Ministry of Railways as a base for the training of locomotive engineers.

5), Zhejiang University of Commerce and Industry
Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJGSU) is a public university located in Hangzhou, which is the capital city of Zhejiang Province and borders Shanghai in the east of China. The University has a student population of over 25,000 and offers forty-six bachelor degree programs, thirty-seven master degree programs and three doctor degree programs in the fields of economics, administration, science, engineering, law, literature and arts.
ZJGSU is earnestly seeking more links with institutions of higher learning overseas in the area of education and scientific research, including faculty and student exchange programs.
