     Beijing National Day School (BNDS) was established in 1952 by the Central Military Committee as a tribute to the national day of China. Now it is one of the Model High Schools in Beijing, where more than 40 military generals once studied. Covering 156,000 square meters, BNDS currently offers quality education to over 5,650 Chinese students in 116 classes from grades 7～12. In addition, BNDS is authorized to enroll international students by the Beijing Municipal Education Committee, and so far has international students from different corners of the world including the USA, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Mongolia and Hong Kong.

Full of culture and beauty, the campus provides students with modern, advanced, and first rate teaching conditions. The school enjoys excellent facilities with the total construction area of 150, 000 square meters. The BNDS teaching staff boasts high moral standards, vast professional knowledge, and excellent scientific research abilities. With a total of 421 teachers, BNDS has 17 distinguished educators, 25 teachers possessing doctorate degrees, 100 teachers with masters degrees and 8～10 foreign teachers from the USA and other commonwealth countries. All have been offering a variety of academic programs and optional courses to our students.

At BNDS, students receive a well-rounded and high standard education. All BNDS junior high school students must pass the senior high school entrance exam, allowing them to receive a senior high school education. In recent years, over 50 high school graduates annually have been enrolled in such world-famous universities as Peking University , Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Princeton University and Princeton, USA. As one of the Beijing Olympic Education Model Schools, BNDS attaches great importance to involving every student and teacher in sports and has held the title Beijing Model School for Sports for 16 consecutive years. The school’s Golden Sail Orchestra and Golden Sail Chorus have won many first prizes at the state and city levels.

Beijing National Day School is a window of international education exchange. Being a member of the Beijing Municipal UNESCO Clubs Association, BNDS has established exchange relations with schools and other educational organizations in over 20 countries or areas,

including the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Through AFS, NACEL and AYA programs, many students and teachers have had the opportunities to study abroad for one year. On a short-term basis, BNDS has also had an ongoing inter-school teacher-student exchange with its sister schools in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Brief introduction

(1) According to the applicant’s Chinese standard, he or she will be put into the Beginners Chinese Class, Medium Chinese Class or Advanced Chinese Class. The learning period for each class is between 4 to 6 months.
(2) For students whose Chinese reaches certain level, they can be transferred to an appropriate class of Chinese students after application.
(3) For students who want to further their study in Chinese colleges, the International Department will open special courses to prepare them for entrance exam to Chinese colleges from the second term of Grade 11.

(1) Language: English, English Grammar, Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Listening, Chinese Writing, Chinese HSK Training Courses, Chinese Culture Experience and etc.
