1) Sichuan University
Sichuan University (SCU) is one of the national key universities directly under the State Ministry of Education (MOE) in China and one of the State “211 Project” universities receiving privileged government support in the Ninth Five-Year Plan click for a full sizeperiod. The University went through two mergers, first with Chengdu University of Science and Technology (CUST), another national key university under the MOE in1994, and then with West China University of Medical Sciences (WCUMS) in 2000, a key university directly subordinated to the State Ministry of Health. 2) University of Electronic Science and Technology
Renowned as China’s cradle for the national electronic industry, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (formerly Chengdu Electronic Information Engineering College) is situated at Chengdu, the city of over a thousand-year-old cultural history in “the land of abundance”. In 1956, instructed by Premier Zhou Enlai, UESTC was founded on the basis of the incorporation of electronic divisions of the then three universities including Jiaotong Universities, Nanjing Institute of Technology and South China Institute of Technology. 3) Southwest Jiaotong University
Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was founded at Shanhaiguan in 1896, named then Imperial Chinese Railway College. It is one of the oldest universities in China majoring in engineering. In 1905, it was moved to Tangshan, Hebei Province, and was renamed Tangshan Jiaotong University, Tangshan Railway Institute, and so on. In 1972, the university was removed to Emei, Sichuan province, and began to use its present name-Southwest Jiaotong University. In 1989, it was moved to Chengdu, and in 2002, the construction of a new campus covering an area of over 3,000 mu was started in Chengdu. With this, a new pattern of “ one university, in two places, with three campuses” is coming into being.

1) Nankai University
A key multidisciplinary and research-oriented university directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Nankai University,located in Tianjin on the border of the sea of Bohai, is also the alma mater of our beloved late Premier Zhou Enlai.

Nankai University was founded in 1919 by the famous patriotic educators, Mr. Zhang Boling and Mr. Yan Xiu. During the Anti-Japanese war (1937-1945), Nankai University, Peking University (Beijng University) and Tsinghua University (Qinghua University) united in Kunming to form the renowned Southwest Associated University. Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education, is a key university in China, jointly run by the Ministry and Shanghai Municipality.

1) Zhejiang University
Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university. Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University was initially known as “Qiushi Shuyuan” (Qiushi Academy), one of the ealiest modern academies of higher learning established in China. Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), founded in Hangzhou in 1956, is one of the key universities in Zhejiang province.
